ABOUT THE AUTHOR

My name is Aleyda Linares.  I was born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. I´m a full time Professor of English at the National Teaching University "Francisco Morazan" (UPNFM) in Honduras. I´ve been teaching at university level for about 16 years. I graduated from Ohio University with a Masters Degree in Computer Education and Technology Applied to ESL/EFL Teaching. I also have a BA degree in TESL from Saint Michael´s College, VT. I enjoy teaching English very much and I´m always trying to look for innovative ways to teach English to  pre-service English teachers. I´m also a teacher-trainer and my areas of interest are CALL (Computer Assisted Language Learning) and/or instructional technology, EFL/ESL methodology, metacognitive strategies in second language learning, and curriculum development applied to language teaching. My teaching goal is to permanently upgrade my teaching skills to help my students develop their critical and reflexive thinking skills, communicative skills,  creativity and passion for teaching, but most of all, to develop their capacity for learning how to learn.

Talking about myself, I can say that I´m single and I have a lovely daughter. She´s ten years old. My favorite animal is the Koala. Koalas have soft thick fur often grey or brown in colour with a white belly, a large hairless nose, round ears and almost no tail. They have only one pair of lower incisors in the lower jaw and only one well-developed pair in the upper jaw (there are no canines), though if they are sufficiently provoked by an over friendly human the Koala will not hesitate to use them (Taken from http://www.frogandtoad.com.au/wa/koalas.html).

If you would like to contact me, please email me at aleydali2005@yahoo.com I´d be happy to exchange ideas, experiences, or just talk about English language teaching in general.

Thank you very much!
